Biography

Nicolò Bertani is Assistant Professor of Operations and Information Management and Big Data Analytics at Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics. He has received his Ph.D. in Decision Sciences from INSEAD, his M.Sc. and a B.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Padova. His research is concerned with statistical learning, developing models to work with big spatiotemporal or grouped data, and with individual decision making, exploring how we behave in the face of uncertainty. Nicolò values applying his research to societal problems, such as urban crime, malnutrition in developing countries, or environmental decision making. His research has been recognized with the Best Student Paper Award of the Informs Decision Analysis Society in 2021. Prior to his Ph.D., Nicolò worked for four years as an analytics consultant in Italy and France.
