Biography
Olena Kolodiy is a PhD Candidate at the Institute of Political Studies at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, where she previously earned a Master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations, specializing in Security and Defense with a dissertation titled "Russian Policy for China: Its Evolution in the Context of Strategic Reorientation Towards the Asia-Pacific Region (2000–2019)”.
She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from NOVA University of Lisbon.
Throughout her academic journey, Olena has gained practical experience through roles at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Portugal, the Embassy of Portugal in Canada, and the Embassy of Portugal in Russia (while completing studies at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow).
Currently, Olena is working at Consulate General of Portugal in Boston while conducting research for her doctoral thesis.
Olena is fluent in Russian, Ukrainian, Romanian, Spanish, Portuguese, and English, and has intermediate proficiency in French and Polish.
