Biography

Patrícia Batista. Researcher at Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) - Human Neurobehavioral Laboratory in Faculdade de Educação e Psicologia, and Escola Superior de Biotecnologia (UCP), and Invited Assistant Professor in Faculdade de Educação e Psicologia (UCP). PhD in Biomedicine in 2013 at Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade da Beira Interior. Her professional career is characterized by interdisciplinary research, she has experience in the development of biomaterials and nutraceuticals, and their characterization with several methodologies/techniques, nanotechnology, in vitro/in vivo assays with materials for biomedicine, and quality of life studies. She published several scientific articles in specialized journals, book chapters, as well as presentations (oral/poster and invited speaker) at international conferences, and patents. In 2018, she participated in an entrepreneurship program and obtained an award by BIOTECH_agrifood Innovation, which highlighted the value of a nutraceutical-developed "Oral film with caffeine" as an innovative product with market potential. Her research is focused on Biomedicine, Biomaterials, Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Health Sciences, Quality of Life, Health promotion/education, and Cognitive Behaviors. Since 2020, she integrates the Human Neurobehavioral Laboratory where she has developed interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research in the area of the interconnection of Biotechnology and Psychology/Neurosciences.
