Biography
Patrícia Sofia Soares Couto was born on August 22, 1990, in Viseu, Portugal. She holds a professional certificate from the Portuguese Dental Association (Ordem dos Médicos Dentistas) No. 8802 and has been in private practice since 2013, working as a general dental practitioner, but also dedicating part of her time to differentiated care for geriatric patients and users with special needs. In 2013, she obtained a Master's degree in Dental Medicine from the Institute of Health Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University in Viseu. In 2014, she completed a postgraduate course in Oro-Maxillo-Facial Pathology at the same institution. In 2018 she received her PhD in Biomedicine from the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Beira Interior. She has been a guest lecturer on the Integrated Master's Degree in Dental Medicine at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the Portuguese Catholic University since 2017 (Assistant Professor from 2017/2018 to 2018/2019 and Assistant Professor from 2019/2020 to the present). She has been developing research in the areas of Dentistry for Special Patients, Oral Medicine and Public Health, with several publications in the form of scientific articles in specialized journals.
