Biography
Pedro Coelho is a Researcher in Finance at CEGE/Universidade Católica Portuguesa. He holds a PhD in Business Adminsitration (specialization in Finance), and his research interests are in corporate finance, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, executive compensation, and contractual design. His research examines how information asymmetry, valuation uncertainty, and managerial incentives shape acquisition contracts and capital market reactions, with special emphasis on the use of earnouts in M&A transactions.
Pedro Coelho has presented his research at both national and international academic conferences and workshops and has participated regularly in research seminars. He is actively involved in the academic peer-review process, serving as a referee for scholarly journals in finance and related fields. His current research projects continue to explore corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and sustainability.
