Raya Khachatryan is a second year PhD Student in Communications at Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Her academic interests are centered around the relationship between journalism and memory, specifically focusing on how controlling journalistic narratives leads to representations of the past. Her former professional experience in journalism is one of the reasons behind this research: for five years, Raya wrote for independent media outlets in Armenia and Russia, such as and DOXA, among others.
