Biography

Rodrigo Marcondes (b. 1979, Brazil) is a current Ph.D. candidate in Culture Studies at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, supported by an FCT Scholarship. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and a Master's degree in Documentary Photography from AKV St. Joost, in The Netherlands (2012), as well as a Master's degree in Scientific Dissemination from the Universidade de Campinas, Brazil (2018). Rodrigo is a visual artist and a member of Coletivo Garapa, a duo exploring the intersections between documentary and visual arts. His work has been exhibited at prestigious institutions such as the Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo (MAM) and the Museu de Arte de São Paulo (MASP). Rodrigo has received numerous awards and grants, including the Bolsa ZUM de Fotografia from the Instituto Moreira Salles (IMS). In addition to his artistic endeavors, Rodrigo has a rich history in education, having taught several free courses throughout the past decade. He has also worked as a professor at ESPM (Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing) and Instituto Europeo de Design in São Paulo, Brazil.
