Biography

Rui Alexandre Sousa da Costa Novais has completed his Ph.D. in Communication and Image Studies from the University of Kent. He is currently an Auxiliary Researcher and Invited Assistant Professor at Universidade Católica Portuguesa Centro Regional de Braga. He has lectured and conducted research in various research units and universities in Portugal, the UK, and Cabo Verde. Rui has been the Principal Investigator for numerous projects, some of which were funded by the FCT. He is currently working on an ongoing project titled 'Mapping risk and uncertainty for journalism in Lusophone countries: An intercontinental study.' He is also a contributor to the 'Worlds of Journalism Study' and 'Journalistic Role Performance', which are global journalism research projects. Throughout his career, Rui has published many books as an author and editor, along with several book chapters and journal articles. He has supervised many MSc dissertations over the years and has also organized numerous international conferences. He has received various awards, distinctions, and honors for his work.
