Biography

Sara Fernandes (Ph.D. University of Lisbon 2022) is a Research Fellow in the Postdoctoral Program in Integral Human Development at Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Cados/Porticus). She is a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Health Research Center (CIIS/Universidade Católica Portuguesa), as well as at the Centre of Philosophy (Universidade de Lisboa), and the Rationality and Applied Ethics Laboratory (Universidade de Coimbra). Her current research focuses on the neuroethical impact of socio-economic factors on child development. Her main academic interests include the relationship between philosophy and neurosciences, particularly neuroenhancement and its effects on personal identity, human nature, and neuroethical challenges. She also works in hermeneutics, philosophy of literature, and political philosophy, with a particular focus on the works of V. Woolf, P. Ricœur, and J. Rawls.
