Biography
My research is centered on exploring the molecular and cellular mechanisms that govern microbial pathogenesis and host interactions, with a strong focus on OMICs approaches. I have a strong interest in this interdisciplinary field because it provides deep insights into the complex dynamics between hosts and pathogens, shedding light on disease progression and potential therapeutic strategies. In early 2023, I was selected as a Post-Doctoral Investigator at Instituto Gulbenkian da Ciência, where my work is guided by Prof. Pedro Beltrão from the Institute of Molecular Systems Biology at ETH Zürich and Prof. Maria João Amorim, head of the Cell Biology of Viral Infection Lab at Universidade Católica Portuguesa. I have since centered my research on developing bioinformatic pipelines for OMICs analysis and integration, particularly in lipidomics and proteomics, aimed at unraveling the complex crosstalk between viruses and host cells.
