Personal profile

Biography

I am an international student who enjoys getting in contact with different cultures. I'm an Egyptian with a BA from the US, work experience from KSA, and a current study plan for a PhD in Europe. I've worked in teaching and translation. With further studies, I know I can take the best of both worlds through a career in academia. I have a passion for literary translation and believe that every action is a form of translation. Even writing or speech can be regarded as translating one's thoughts and feelings into a different form. I love studying foreign cultures and the relationships between different societies. In addition, I am interested in literature and how it reflects society and influences it for eternity. My research interests include: Translation Studies, Literary Translation, Translation and Conflict, Post Translation Studies, Cultural Influence and Translation, Jewish Studies, World Literature, Sociolinguistics, Pragmatics, and Psycholinguistics.
