Biography

Simone Conceição Costa Sá has graduated in Bioengineering and completed her Master’s in Biomedical Engineering, at the Escola Superior de Biotecnologia-Universidade Católica Portuguesa (ESB-UCP) both with a final classification of 18/20. Her performance over this period allowed her to receive several scholarships and awards, self-financing her entire education, including the prestigious “DGES-Direção-Geral de Ensino Superior” scholarship, two “CaixaGeral de Depósitos” awards for the best bachelor’s degree and best combined bachelor’s and master’s degree classifications and the "S.Francisco de Assis" award for the best final UCP Porto Regional Centre classification. Simone participated in several innovation competitions, winning 3rd place in the Biomind competition and joining Glint INNOV's Idea Up program. Additionally, she was a H-INNOVA Health INNOVAtion Award and Glintt's G-Battle finalist. During her academic path, she joined several scientific events’ committees, particularly “Jornadas de Biotecnologia” (2023 President) and Innovation Forum on Biotechnology. Simone started working as a Product Manager at Craftable Software, overseeing end-to-end delivery processes, coordinating cross-functional teams and acquiring programming skills, knowledge of Agile methodologies, stakeholder management and data analysis. Later, she joined MiGSO-PCUBED working as Project Management Officer Analyst. Responsibilities encompassed functional configuration, schedule management, document improvement and quality assurance in the automotive industry. Recently, Simone had the opportunity to join “IBEROS+: Instituto de Biofabricación en Red para el Envejecimiento Saludable” project at UCP through a Research Fellowship, providing a stimulating scientific environment to explore state of-the-art technologies such as supercritical fluid processing to improve biological tissue grafting quality and safety.
