Biography

Pharmacist graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She began her scientific career at the Laboratory for the Evaluation and Synthesis of Bioactive Substances (LASSBio|Brazil), working in Medicinal Chemistry. During her master’s studies, she investigated novel ALDH-2 inhibitors aimed at modulating chemical dependency. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Porto, where she focused on lipid mediators within the ovarian inflammatory microenvironment, with emphasis on female infertility and the pharmacological potential of chalcones. She is currently an Assistant Researcher at the Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry, Faculty of Biotechnology, Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Her research explores how stress affects intestinal health and contributes to the biological mechanisms underlying intestinal aging.
