    Biography

    Vasco Manuel da Silva Neves is a Specialist Nurse, with a career that began in 1995, combining clinical practice, teaching and research. He has worked at the Armed Forces Hospital in Porto and in the private sector, mainly in the field of internal medicine. He has a bachelor's and master's degree in Medical-Surgical Nursing, with a particular interest in wound treatment and care for people with foot conditions. In 2023, he completed his PhD in Nursing at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, developing a thesis on the management of therapeutic regimens in patients with onychomycosis, the impact on quality of life and the contributions of antiseptic solutions.

    He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, where he has been teaching at various levels since 2020, and was also a Guest Adjunct Professor at the Portuguese Red Cross School of Health. He has been participating in research projects, publishing in indexed scientific journals and supervising postgraduate training courses. At the same time, he promotes and contributes to scientific events, seeking to encourage debate and the sharing of best practices. In recognition of his contribution to nursing research, he was awarded the Valoriza Prize by the Order of Nurses in 2023.
