Graduated in Modern Languages and Literature (English/German) from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of University of Porto, in 1983. 

Graduated in Law from the Porto School of Law, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, in 1986. 

Master’s degree in Law from the Lisbon School of Law, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, in the area of Commercial Law, in 1993. 

PhD in Intellectual Property from the Faculty of Law of the University of Santiago de Compostela, in 2000.
