Biography
Viviana Ribeiro has a Degree in Genetics and Biotechnology (concluded in 2009) and a Master degree in Clinical Laboratory Biology (concluded in 2011) at the University of Trás-os Montes e Alto Douro (Portugal). She concluded her PhD (PD/BD/113806/2015) at 3Bs Research Group (University of Minho, Portugal) with the highest mention of "Very Good", and with the impressive achievements of 1 patent registration, 7 research papers in high impact factor Journals in the field (i.e. Biomaterials, ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, Acta Biomaterialia), and 3 book chapters (as first author). From 2018-2022, she was awarded with two Post-Doc fellows and two Junior Research contracts at 3Bs Research Group-University of Minho. In October 2022, she was awarded with a Junior Research contract at the CBQF-Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry of Portuguese Catholic University of Porto (School of Biotechnology - ESB). She has experience in financed projects applications: e.g. HierarchiTech and IET Harvey Research Prize. She has an H-index of 14 and more than 850 citations (https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=en&user=W06r5-MAAAAJ). Author and co-author of 47 publications in international/national scientific meetings (19 oral and 28 poster presentations), 7 book chapters, and 25 publications in scientific journals with referee (6 invited publications, 9 as corresponding author). She participated in 23 international/national scientific meetings in the field. She has experience in intellectual property rights and patent exploitation, resulting in 4 granted patents (WO 2018/215997 A1; WO 2018/025186 A1; WO 2021/038507 A1; WO 2022/029739 A1). She collaborated with >60 co-authors, and co-organization of several editions of the "Annual Scientific Meeting Term Stem". She provides referee services to 34 International Journals in the field and with high impact factor (e.g. ACS Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering; ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces; Theranostics; Nano Letters; Advanced Healthcare Materials). She was Guest Editor of two Special Issues from Materials (https://www.mdpi.com/si/37667) and Pharmaceutics (https://www.mdpi.com/si/65652), and is Topical Advisory Panel Member (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/pharmaceutics/topical_advisory_panel) of Pharmaceutics. She is Review Editor in Frontiers in Biomaterials Science (special section Bio-interactions and Biocompatibility) and Editor of the Research Topic "Sustainable Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine" at Frontiers in Materials. She provides mentoring and supervision activities of PhD students. Her research interests and ambitions are focused on sustainable development and by-products valorization. She has an excellent reputation for resolving problems and improving work results.
