Viviana Ribeiro is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Centro de Biotecnologia e Química Fina (CBQF), Universidade Católica Portuguesa, specializing in the development and validation of decellularization protocols for animal tissues, repurposed from the food industry, for clinical applications. Her work focuses on biomaterials for skin regeneration, particularly using rabbit dermis as an agro-industrial by-product. Her scientific innovation is reflected in 5 granted patents. She has authored 27 publications in scientific Journals in the field (>Q1), 8 book chapters, 2 Journal Special Issues and 72 publications in international/national conferences (31 oral and 41 poster presentations). She also participated in 29 international/national scientific meetings in the field. Viviana Ribeiro has played a key role as project leader in major research projects such as ReSkin, FENIX (2023.07374.CEECIND), STAR-SKIN (2023.11204.PEX), and ALICE (2024.05237.RESTART), contributing to groundbreaking approaches in tissue engineering. She has also been invited as a professor in a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering, mentoring students in scientific dissemination and knowledge transfer.
