Project Details
Description
The goal of this bilateral initiative is to look deeper into the use of auctions for renewable energy production, borrowing extensively from the Portuguese and Norwegian experience in those auctions and, hopefully, making an important contribution to future auctions. In particular, we aim to (i) identify the practices of both Portugal and Norway in their auctions of renewable electricity production, especially solar and wind; (ii) collect data, reports, studies and publications that have been produced on such auctions, not only in Portugal and Norway, but also in other countries; (iii) actively engage in discussions with the relevant governmental entities in charge of such auctions, with a view towards identifying best practices and sharing knowledge acquired in the course of the bilateral initiative; (iv) organize workshops, both in Portugal and in Norway, dedicated to the exchange of knowledge between experts and/or practitioners in both countries; and (v) contribute to the design of future renewable auctions, both in Portugal and in Norway.
