Project Details

Description

The proposed project aims to unify joint competencies and capacities of the participating KICs to support a transition to more systemic circularity as well as to explore possible specific approaches towards circularity in SMEs. In order to
do so, we propose to execute the project in two main stages: 1) analysis of the existing practices and activities performed by all KICs and their partners with regards to the circular economy in SMEs; 2) design of policy recommendations on how to improve and support the existing actions and on how to design the new ones, in line with the Circular Economy Action Plan and other instruments of the European Green Deal.
The project proposal is elaborated together with the Center for Responsible Business and Leadership of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP), which will focus on the methodological aspect of the project as. The distinguishing point that contributes to the uniqueness of the proposal is that we aim at employing a systemic approach in analyzing and formulating recommendations, assessing both climate-related success of the existing and recommended activities, but also societal impact of those actions.
As a result of the project implementation, a detailed workplan will be formulated; an interim and final report of the analysis and recommendations will be designed; a PowerPoint with a summary of the main takeaways and recommendations will be compiled.
