COST Action CA16213: New Exploratory Phase in Research on East European Cultures of Dissent (NEP4DISSENT)

Project Details

Description

Resistance and dissent in former socialist Europe (1945-1989) constitutes a remarkable chapter of the European recent past, being an important reference for the understanding of identitarian processes in post-socialist societies, and for awareness about contemporary social movements worldwide as well. The proposers of this Action believed that, after a period of growth and consolidation, the field stalled and fell short of its true significance. The main aim was, thus, to forge a new, reflexive approach on East European cultures of dissent, using a transnational, multidisciplinary and technology-conscious research network as basis.

CECC was involved in the works pursued by working group 1: Culture Under Surveillance.
