Encyclopaedia of Religious History in Portugal (online)

Project Details

Description

The Encyclopaedia of Religious History in Portugal (online) aims to create a dynamic online structure capable of offering the general public and the scientific community recent research into religious phenomena that can endure over time. In the specific field of research, the Encyclopaedia aspires to become the main structure for bringing together the history of religious phenomena in Portugal and the Portuguese-speaking world and also a privileged space for disseminating the latest research. Entirely open to the study of the history of religion as a whole, the Encyclopedia also aims to become a platform for dialogue, not only between different manifestations of religious sensibility, but also between the different scientific communities that make up the Lusophone universe, and between all the researchers and institutions that, outside this universe, dedicate themselves to similar research. Centred on History, the Encyclopaedia of Religious History in Portugal will not dispense with the collaboration of various other disciplines, such as Art History, Archaeology, Anthropology, Sociology, Geography, Theology, Philosophy and Literary Studies, whose contribution is decisive in the study of the religious universe.
