Project Details
Description
Ageing is a complex biological process that leads to a significant decline in organ physiology and function, thus it is considered to be a systemic disruption of healthy physiology. Moreover, age represents the major risk factor for chronic diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular, and neurodegenerative conditions. Recent research has demonstrated that the correct function of blood vessels is linked to ageing and the onset of age-related diseases.
This project will unravel new essential processes underlying the systemic impact of blood vessels on age-related diseases and ageing.
