From Marginalisation to Reintegration into Society

The immediate objective of this project was to ascertain the extent and intensity of marginalisation in Lisbon, to characterise, classify and explain situations and behaviours associated with marginalisation, particularly in extreme cases, and to define intervention strategies to prevent and minimise its effects and overcome these occurrences.

The ultimate goal of the project was to foster synergies among the marginalised themselves and potential social actors that would contribute to the eradication of this serious social problem.

The project was coordinated by Manuela Silva and Alfredo Bruto da Costa, with Francisco Nunes, Pilar Moreira and Margarida Bruto da Costa as researchers.
