Project Details

Description

hAPPy kids was a project conducted by CECC's researcher Patrícia Dias in cooperation with Rita Brito, from Escola Superior de Educação de Lisboa (ESE-IPL). It aimed to understand how young children (under-8s) usually deal with new technologies and what role the family plays in terms of choices and practices involving mobile apps and other digital technologies.
The project was carried out in four phases: (i) implementation of a questionnaire designed for families with children under 8; (ii) interviews with the families; (iii) interviews with experts on child education and technology; (iv) observation of children using mobile devices when playing at their nursery school.
