Project Details

Description

The present project assumes 3 purposes. Firstly, to make the history of the Congregation of Servants of Our Lady of Fatima (SNSF) through the development of archival research that will result in the publication of a book. Secondly, to foster historical research on the Congregation based on its archives and the gathering of oral testimonies. Thirdly, to deepen the study of female religious Orders and Congregations in Portugal in their specificity, highlighting the pioneering role of the SNSF in certain sectors, namely: the question of the habit; the role of the press; the priority given to the education of girls; the valuing of the priestly and apostolic dimension; community life; the affirmation of female leadership in the Church and in society; among others.
