Description

This project has two major objectives. First, it aims at promoting and monitoring projects focussed on the history of dioceses. Second, the project has the goal of carrying out studies and initiatives - such as colloquia, congresses, public lectures, seminars, celebrations of significant dates, etc. -, dedicated to diocesan institutions, the most relevant figures in diocesan life, and the pastoral and cultural movements developed within a specific diocese. In collaboration with other CEHR research areas, the present project also aims at contributing to the raise of resources to organize and improve the quality of archives and libraries belonging to ecclesiastical institutions. In the initial period, priority will be given to the work on the following dioceses: - Porto; - Vila Real; - Angra do Heroísmo.
