Knowledge Networks. History of the Centre for the Study of Portuguese-speaking Peoples and Cultures

Project Details

Description

The Study Center on Peoples and Cultures (CEPCEP) is, as defined in its founding statutes, an institution of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) whose general programmatic objective is to study ‘peoples and cultures, particularly those whose official language is Portuguese, to foster mutual understanding and contribute to their rapprochement’.

Initially conceived by a group of founders in the early 1980s and then established at the UCP in the spring of 1983, CEPCEP ended its first long (34-year) cycle of life in 2017, coinciding with the leadership of its ‘historic’ President, Prof. Eng. Roberto Carneiro. This book deals with the history of these years and the many achievements of the Centre since its foundation.

José Manuel Sardica was the researcher and author. The work was published in issue 23 of the Estudos e Documentos collection under the title ‘Redes de Conhecimento. História do Centro de Estudos dos Povos e Culturas de Expressão Portuguesa’ (Knowledge Networks. History of the Centre for the Study of Portuguese-speaking Peoples and Cultures).
