Project Details
Description
One of the main goals of this project is to map the cognitive performance of translators whose target language is the Portuguese, in terms of habits, strategies, automatisms and translational norms, and so understand whether cultural and linguistic differences impact or not translators' processual skills and experience. Most of the professionals selected for the analysis are literary translators, but not exclusively, and the project seeks to establish a relationship between theory and practice, i.e., between those who produce the texts to be translated and those who translate them, contributing to attenuate prejudice, disbeliefs and unconsciousness about the role of each other. The research also expects to give visibility and value to the work of the translator, both scientifically and socially.
