Missionaries from Portuguese India (Goa) in East Timor

Project Details

Description

Based on more than fifty unpublished biographies, this volume Missionaries from Portuguese India (Goa) in East Timor aims to highlight the commendable and praiseworthy work of these sons of the ‘Rome of the East’ who, through their missionary activity on the island ‘where sandalwood comes from’, contributed with devotion and affection to the evangelisation of the Timorese people. Among the various priests of Goa, such as Dominican friars, secular priests or diocesan priests, the same fervour and faith can be recognised: that of becoming messengers of the Good News in Timor-Leste.

He was a researcher and author of the publication D. Ximenes Belo.

The work was published in the Studies and Documents Collection and edited by Universidade Católica Editora.
