RAIR aims to promote the study, preservation, organisation and dissemination of documental heritage as an instrument for building the collective memory and history of Portuguese society. It is based on collaboration and partnership between member institutions in order to realise a diverse range of historiographical, cultural and archival initiatives. Centred on the valorisation of the heritage of the Portuguese historical space, the work carried out by the Network seeks to promote greater coordination with similar international dynamics. The main objectives of this project are: 1.To give visibility to the archival work carried out by the participating institutions, in terms of preserving, organising and disseminating historical heritage; 2.To promote good archival practices in institutions that hold religious documentary heritage; 3.To encourage forms of cooperation between the different partner entities in order to build technical capacity, train human resources and manage and share equipment and services; 4.To promote research and dissemination in the areas of History, Heritage, Information Sciences and Archiving.
