Description
This study focuses on regional or regionalist short stories, from Minho to Alentejo, resulting from a systematic collection in literary magazines and newspapers from across the country between 1875 and 1930.
A detailed list of these periodicals was compiled, mostly from the National Library in Lisbon, as well as a complete bibliography of short stories from the various provinces of mainland Portugal.
The study, carried out by Ana Costa Lopes, was published in two volumes, ‘O Conto Regional na Imprensa Periódica de 1875 a 1930’ (Regional Short Stories in the Periodical Press from 1875 to 1930), vol. I - Study, vol. II - Anthology. They constitute numbers 2 and 3 in the ‘Estudos e Documentos’ (Studies and Documents) collection published by CEPCEP.
