The BioPlaTTAR Platform for the Tailored and Rapid Development of Antiviral Biopharmaceuticals

Project Details

Description

The emergence of viral diseases, of which Influenza and COVID-19 are examples, threatens global health and global socio-economic stability. It is thus critical to rapidly respond with therapeutic strategies to
tackle viral threads and outbreaks.
This project aims to develop an integrated platform (BioPlaTTAR) to respond to viral threads and outbreaks in a fast and efficient way, with a streamlined pipeline from lead generation to in vivo validation. This platform will accelerate the development of tailored biopharmaceuticals when they are most needed. In the context of this La Caixa Health Research call, BioPlaTTAR joins the global effort to pursue treatments for use alternatively to or together with vaccines and boost the competitiveness and self-sufficiency of Iberia and Europe in the field of biopharmaceutical development.
