Description
This is number 22 in the Studies and Documents collection, ‘The Condition of the Islander’. The aim of this publication was to investigate the soul of the islander in the various fields in which it can be analysed, such as literature, psychology, art, culture, music, philosophy, ethnography, etc.
It was a project that had been in the planning stages for several years and was finally conceived and completed in about a year and a half. It features the participation of 63 authors with the following geographical focus: 39 wrote about the Azores, 11 about Cape Verde, 10 about Madeira and 3 about São Tomé and Príncipe.
The work was coordinated by Roberto Carneiro, Artur Teodoro de Matos and Onésimo Teotónio Almeida.
