Four years after the launch of the work ‘A Condição de Ilhéu’ (The Condition of an Islet), we now see the fourth volume, ‘A Condição de Ilhéu: Arquipélago da Madeira’ (The Condition of an Islet: Madeira Archipelago), come to life. New contributions have been added to some of the texts published in the original work, resulting in 25 reflections on the reality of the Porto Santo and Madeira archipelagos from multiple disciplinary perspectives. The volume is divided into five chapters - Being an Islander; Twice an Islander; Around the Island...; With the Island Behind Us; Insularity and Identity - and offers the reader a synesthetic journey through the individual and community experience of being an islander.
Nelson Veríssimo and Catarina Burnay were the coordinators.
The work was published in the Estudos e Documentos collection and edited by Universidade Católica Editora.
