ALGREEN aims to define new strategies for the reuse and valorization of invasive resources on the coastline of the North coast of the PMA, developing cost-efficient applications that contribute to environmental sustainability, socio-economic promotion, health and well-being of the local community. The value proposition includes the pre-preparation and exhaustive characterization of the different macroalgae harvested, and their fractionation and extraction using innovative green technologies, which make it possible to prepare different extracts with different properties on a basis of full use of the raw material and subject to can be implemented in an infrastructure owned by the local community. After characterizing and exploring the application potential (agricultural, cosmetic and food) the different fractions/extracts will be used in the construction of new products for the target markets. The results obtained will be widely disseminated through the elaboration of publications, promotion of demonstration workshops for different target audiences and development of informative materials.
