Abstract

This article exposes data related to a research in progress that intends to understand the place of Ethics in the processes of promoting the professional knowledge of future social educators. Taking as a starting point the concerns felt by the students, namely in the context of an academic internship, we seek to know how Ethics is contemplated in the training offer of Portuguese Higher Education, based on the analysis of the respective study plans. Starting with the characterization of the Portuguese Higher Education system, the data collected are analyzed in the light of a conceptual framework based on principles of relational ethics indexed to the primacy of alterity, in accordance with the theoretical and practical requirements of Social Pedagogy.
