Abstract
In the context of ecocriticism, this study aims to examine the place and context of Native American feminine narratives, especially the umbilical and holistic connection of indigenous women to Mother Earth and the importance of matriarchal knowledge and its transmission to subsequent generations. In this sense, the stories/ histories assume themselves as identity matrix and vehicle of information, regeneration and rescue of the native culture and its integration in the North American society.
