Abstract

The RenEU – New Renaissance in Europe project is coordinated by the Tuscan region (Italy) and benefits from a strategic partnership with four other regions – Patronage of Alhambra and Generalife (spain), Villa Decius Association (Poland), Setepés (Portugal) and Maison Val de Loire (France). It aims to revisit and reinterpret the Renaissance in the light of its European dimension. It this short film, five historical people from the Renaissance period are presented having dinner together and pondering over today's Europe, the lack of hope when one looks ahead, the need for a united and peaceful Europe – a creative and innovative country, fully aware of its responsibilities. It is impossible to separate History, as a human cultural process, from the human being, both at the individual and the collective level. This short film aims to make European citizens aware of the fact that they need to reflect on his role they are to play in this new process.
