Abstract
This work deals with influenza in Portugal, with particular emphasis on the Russian flu. The Spanish flu will not be addressed, given the profusion of studies already published in recent years on this pandemic. Our objective is to show the antiquity of the disease in Portugal, as well as its recurrence over the centuries, including in contemporary times, when the flu reached a higher incidence. Medical journals and publications are the main basis of our work, which aims to be a contribution to the study of a disease Grathat has not received the attention it certainly deserves, namely from the part of History.
