Abstract
The objective of this research was to highlight the structuring and the use of the stricto sensu postgraduate course within the scope of the Brazilian Air Force and to demonstrate the importance of the topic to the scientific community, since the Armed Forces consist ofá anan important area of knowledge for defense and the integration of the Brazilian territory, resulting in environmental sustainability. The methodology used in this research was the deductive method; as to the means, the research was the bibliographical one, with use of the legislation and doctrine; and, for the purposes, the research was qualitative. The conclusion reached was that although the topic is little discussed in the scientific production field, it is extremely important that the National Development Agency, CAPES, maintain post-graduate courses stricto sensu within the scope of the Air Force, to promote research and expand knowledge in the area of defense of Brazilian airspace, as well as in the integration of the national territory, helping the country to grow.
