A investigação na formação em serviço social: estratégias de ensino adotadas

This communication falls under the topic - Profession - of the V National Congress of Social Work. This results from an empirical investigation conducted through a multiple case study covering three courses of 1st Cycle in Social Work in Portugal. Higher education training has the function of training competent professionals. Within the various dimensions of training, research and preparation for it, is a fundamental element of this competence and professional identity. In this way, it is important to understand how we form in this !eld (i.e. what teaching strategies we adopt) and what the pro!le of professionals we intend to form. We have been able to identify, among the Higher Education Institutions studied (with different designs in their curricular structure) strategies of teaching of the investigation that pass through the stimulus and creation of research opportunities in contexts of practice. In this sense, the opportunities created aim to trigger the knowledge of research processes and re"ection on: why to do, what to do and how to do. It is discussed how to provide students with access to all stages of a research project making it less intimidating, more stimulating, and understood by students as relevant / fundamental to practice.
