A promoção de saúde da criança-família

Report developed in the scope of a professional nursing master in the area of specialization in pediatrics and child health. Its objectives include: (a) present the context of stage activities and results of learning work, (b) identify the key skills developed in various areas within the area of specialization in Nursing Pediatrics and Child Health, (c) reflect on the impact of this route to personal and professional level. Using a descriptive methodology, critical and reflective view attending the individual learning needs we present the curricular unit as a part of the masters course. The theoretical framework that guided the course of training is focused on child / family health promotion. The Nursing Order identifies this as a priority area of nursing research highlighting "the concern for producing knowledge that supports an evidence-based practice, but also with their own evidence-based practice as an area of research" and "the interest in producing knowledge that supports emerging paradigms of training, including skills development and certification” (2010, p.21). In this field we integrate the health promotion model developed by Nola Pender (2002) as support of activities complementary to the theoretical contributions of Benner (2005), Casey (1993) and key documents in the target area of expertise. The Curricular Unit Course was held in local child / family care (health center, pediatrics hospital service and neonatal special care unit) involving three distinct modules. In the process of developing skills we integrate skills already acquired as viewed in adult education. From the carried out activities we highlight the identification of nursing health promotion strategies, developed by professionals in different locations as the implementation of strategies to improve care based on the situation diagnosis.
