Abstract
Concerning the extension projects, the Universidade Católica Portuguesa has concluded the diagnosis of the Alcântara and Arroios Public Bathhouse users’ health situation. The main objective is to compare the results from these studies and reveal promising strategies of community intervention, with the intent of social inclusion. From the analytical comparison of the descriptive studies, and based on the health planning methodology, emerged strategies following the determined priorities. The sanitary and economic conditions, solitude and the homeless situation explain the usage of these resources. The majority of users lived without any source of income, they did not looked after their health, nor did they have a family doctor. They present morbidities, from which we can highlight mental health issues and addict behaviours. After identifying the typical user, we can conclude that the data overlaps. We intend to continue this investigation project in other bathhouses and the consultation as a nursing response to the vulnerable population.
