Abstract
Despite being incomplete, the Portuguese version of the Iliad attributed to D. Jerónimo Osório is one of the most important translations attempted in the Portuguese Renaissance, because it was one of the few translations of a Greek work of this period. However, there are some doubts regarding its authenticity, being the date, which is provided by one manuscript only, especially problematic.
