Abstract

This article aims to study two illuminated liturgical manuscripts from the monastic library of Alcobaça, a Collectary - ritual (Alc. 166) and a Psalter-hymnal (Alc. 11), both from the late twelfth century. The analysis of its liturgical contents and illuminated decorations, along with its comparison with other illuminated manuscripts from the same monastery, intends to accurate their context and dates of production and their origin in this Cistercian house.
