Abstract

This text reflects on the Christian Initiation of adults, the causes that have made it a current issue, both on the ecclesial level and outside. It describes the path that the concept of Christian initiation has travelled within the ecclesial community, until it became an emerging concept, associated with the mutations in the understanding of the catechetical processes. In pedagogical terms, it also reflects the importance that andragogy has in the understanding of the education processes of the faith of adults. Is is precisely from the assumption of the preoccupations and interests of adults that Christian initiation is thought of as auditus fidei, attentive to the reading of the signs of the times with an unavoidable social implication.
