Abstract
With the objective of knowing the common etiological agents in urinary infection and comparing its antimicrobial susceptibility in nosocomial and community-acquired urinary infections, we analysed all the urine bacteriological exams from the Serviço de Patologia Clínica do Centro Hospitalar do Nordeste, ENE - Unidade Hospitalar de Bragança, during a five-year period (January 2004 to December 2008). This work allowed to obtain and make available data on etiologic urinary infection agents in Bragança Province, and provides the information about their antimicrobials resistance profiles, which essential to establish an adequate empirical treatment and to elaborate treatment guides.
