Abstract

This paper aims at analyzing Achilles as a heroic figure with particular relevance in the mythical repertoire of Antiquity. Taking the Homeric Poems as fundamental reference – seen under the light of the contrast with the narrative reconstruction detailed in the Trojan Cyclic Poems and in later mythographers – this analysis will try to clarify the nature of the Homeric heroic model.
