Abstract

This study aims to understand one of the pastoral concerns that guided the pontificate of D. Frei Bartolomeu dos Mârtires. According to the archbishop of Braga, the ideal parish priest should be modeled through a careful human, intellectual, theological and moral preparation. The Seminary, a boarding school under the orientations of Trent, should contribute to shape the ideal parish priest proposed by the archbishop.
