As equipas de investigação criminal conjuntas

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

In the face of complex, organized and transnational criminality, which takes place in the territory of more than one country, traditional means of investigation have become ineffective. The reason behind this inefficacy lies in the traditional territorial way of investigating crimes which is not adequate to the specific characteristics of the new criminality. In this context of criminality, it has become essential to create mechanisms such as joint investigation teams. We will analyze its nature, purpose, scope and articulation with the other instruments of international cooperation. The relevant Portuguese law will also be analyzed.
